You can see these and all of the posters below. Thanks to the artists for their submissions. We had a great collection of inspirational posters in this years show and we plan to put them on display at various venues around town. Next week, they will be on display in the atrium outside City Council chambers. The following week we will have them set up at the Black Star Co-op. People can buy the posters at the Frame Corner Gallery (austinframecorner.com) for $20 at 5601 Adams Ave, Austin. Hours are 10-5 Tues-Sat, 453-7788. Even better, buy a poster and have it framed. Regardless of whether you buy and frame a poster, "Git out and there and Ride Your Bike."
The Austin Bike Poster Show is about making art that inspires cycling for transportation. The winner of the Show will be recognized by and receive a proclamation from the Mayor on Thursday, May 26. In addition, the winning poster will be framed by the Frame Corner. Artists selected for the show will have 25 copies to sell for $20 each. The posters will be sold at the show opening as well as throughout May at the Frame Corner. Ten percent of the proceeds will go towards the Lamar Safe Routes to School program. Thirty percent will go to the gallery for hosting and promoting the show. The artists will get 60% of the sales.
